The Los Angeles police had a a small army out in force last night to provide a motorcade for Britney Spears to be taken to the hospital. I haven't seen Susan Sarandon in ages, but it seems she's officially crossed over from "hot mom" to "hot grandma" category. Supposedly, Britney Spears has been up since Saturday and hasn't slept at all. That probably didn't help her behavior, but I'm sure she's going to get some "night, night" drugs while hospitalized on the "5150" hold.

Lynne Spears just recently flew in and reunited with Britney after a long estrangement period and since this hospitalization was "in the planning" for a while, we now know why Lynne showed up. When she saw Britney, she was supposedly very shocked at how mentally screwed up her daughter was.

Days before Britney Spears' "carefully orchestrated intervention," her mother Lynne Spears "flew out" to L.A. Sunday and was shocked to see how badly the singer's mental condition had deteriorated, a source close to the singer tells Usmagazine.com.

"Lynne was devastated," a source tells Us. "She hadn't seen her in a while and to see her deteriorated to this level - what mother wouldn't be affected by that? It's awful."

Just yesterday's we had Avril Lavigne in a tiny pink bikini and today, she's now rocking a baby blue one. It's pretty amazing that all this time she's been hiding a pretty great little body under layers of clothing. You know those Canadians though, just constantly surprising you with their sexuality. The internet's most downloaded woman (at one time anyway) Cindy Margolis was at the premiere of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins in Los Angeles recently looking fantastic as ever. You remember last time I mentioned her, it was about how much she likes sex. I'm guessing she still really likes it. She's not pregnant yet though. That was her ultimate goal for having constant sex with her husband, so I have to believe that he took my advice I posted before and is just enjoying the ride (so to speak) for as long as he can. Another drama-fest night for Britney Spears. She was taken to a hospital by ambulance and a small army of cops under a "5150 Hold" followed by legions of paparazzi. Both of Britney's parents were there and Sam Lutfi. She's in for at least 3 days now, but possibly longer.

We're told there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days. We've also learned there have been several parallel attempts to get Britney on a 5150. Her lawyers, Anne Kiley and Tara Scott, secured a new psychiatrist late last week -- he's the one who triggered the 5150 last night.

At the same time, we're told Britney's mother, father and brother have been "working closely with the LAPD for weeks" to get her back in for psychiatric care.

It seems that she did go willingly, but that she hasn't been taking her prescribed medication and her psychiatrist felt she was a danger to herself and others by her reckless driving. Duh!

Last night, Britney's new psychiatrist went to her home and felt she was a danger to herself and others -- partly because of her reckless driving and partly because of her "downhill behavior." As a result, the shrink launched a plan (days in the making) to have Britney committed to UCLA Medical Center by calling the cops.

Sources tell us the cops knew it was coming. In fact, the plan was for cops and paramedics to take Britney away the night before, but it was scrubbed. Last night, it all went down according to plan. Cops even used code to minimize craziness in transporting Britney to the hospital. Over the police radio, she was referred to as "The Package."

Our sources say Britney said she was on Adderall, a stimulant used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder, and was taking up to ten laxatives a day. Side note - cameras caught Spears a few days ago picking up a bagful of laxatives.

We're also told, when she was admitted, Britney accused her mom of "sleeping with my boyfriend." She wasn't specific on who she was referring to.

We're also told for a time she was hurling swearwords at her parents and staff.

10 laxatives a day must be her weight loss plan. I've heard of people doing that, but it seriously screws up your system. Kevin Federline's got to be really happy he jumped off the crazy-train early.
