Rehab Alert: Eva Mendes Not with Britney

Since all the news these last couple days seems related to Britney Spears somehow, I figured I might as well continue the trend. Sexy star Eve Mendes is currently in rehab. I also want to confirm reports that she's not around Britney Spears at all. She does happen to be at the Cirque Lodge that Lindsay Lohan was once at, but keep in mind...this story has nothing to do with Britney Spears.

Eva Mendes checked into Utah's Cirque Lodge and has been in the facility, which deals with substance-abuse problems, for several weeks.

"Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva's privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details," her rep told PEOPLE Friday.

While were on the subject of not talking about Britney Spears, I want to say it's great that Eva checked herself in and is trying to get her life on track. That's so much better then people in your life having you committed to treatment, say like...ummm...I don't know...Britney Spears maybe? I think it's an excellent thing that Eva has done and I wish her all the best. I have a feeling that if she could, Britney Spears would also be supportive.
