Jimmy Fallon will replace Conan O’Brien who will replace Jay Leno who will be starring in his own new show.

It’s been speculation for weeks, if not months now, that this would happen but the networks are finally officially announcing all the changes.  And David Letterman sits his ass in the chair he’s occupied for a bazillion years, so no shock factor there.

Why the mix-up after a formula that has worked for 15 years?  The networks are losing some big shows that they’ve had in timeslots for years because their story lines have run their course.  This is the final season of ER, Scrubs has moved to an entirely new network, Pushing Daisies has been cancelled, along with Boston Legal and Battlestar Galactica and many more.  It’s a modern day miracle the networks haven’t entirely collapsed upon themselves.

PS. Don’t forget to get a converter if you use analog television signals – the deadline is coming up.
