Deranged Marriage

Y’all know I love reality TV.  It’s what I live for – modern day schadenfreude, but CBS along with the production company, called Magical Elves, that brought us Project Runway and Top Chef have decided that know they are going to let family members decide who their loved one must marry before even meeting in a show called “Arranged Marriage”.  I don’t know about you, but I won’t even let my family order for me at restaurants, much less who I am going to be betrothed to, and on camera nonetheless.  This goes especially for a production company called Magical Elves, which only conjures images of the Keebler family.  It’s going to be a trainwreck in slow motion, but I feel it my civic duty to watch and report back to you to spare you the agony and eye bleach.

If history tells us anything, none of this will work out.  They will end up friends at the end of each episode after going through some tumultuous times where they have conflicting backgrounds and idealogies.  It will all work out in the end with a hug and a lesson on tolerance.  Are we that devoid of imagination when it comes to tormenting people for our own amusement?  Where’s the Marquis de Sade when you need him?

This comes on the coattails of CBS leaking that it will be also showing a reality TV show where a corporate executive goes undercover in his own company to torment his or her employees to see just how much they can handle.  If I didn’t know any better, I would have just assumed they’d show footage of my last job.
