Kanye West accepted his Grammy for best Rap Album at the 2008 Grammy Awards Show by saying he had won before and he pretty much owns the place. Then he also said that only Amy Winehouse or himself should get the Album of the Year award (which went to jazz musician Herbie Hancock), but that mostly...he should get it. He also talked about how he took hip-hop cross-genre and reinvented it.
They actually started playing music during his speech and he mentioned a couple times they should stop that, especially when he was thanking his late mother Donda West. I'm just glad he won...I couldn't stand to see another year of him bitching.
Coke-whore Singer Amy Winehouse won five Grammys last night and, well...that stunned the crap out of me. I guess that just proves that getting high on crack and doing heroin can help you achieve your dreams. How about that? She was banned from getting a visa and attending, but she accepted via satellite.
In all, Amy won five of the six awards for which she was nominated: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album. Her only loss came in the night's biggest category - and biggest surprise - Album of the Year, which saw jazz legend Herbie Hancock become the first jazz artist to take home this award in 43 years.
Winehouse accepted the award via satellite and thanked her parents and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is currently in a British jail for allegedly interfering in a police investigation into an assault.
I haven't heard form Super Fan Tom yet, but I'm sure his congratulations to Amy will be on the way soon. In the meantime, I'm off to score some smack. Soon this will be the most successful blog on the planet. Just you wait!
