So Carrie Underwood supposedly said Michael Phelps was cute and now the two might be getting together in the near future.

Michael was over the moon after hearing a rumor that the one-time American Idol thinks he is "cute." According to celebrity tattles on-site at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the twentysomethings are frequently texting each other and have already begun planning a "quiet first date" near Carrie's home in Nashville, Tennessee.An excited Michael is hoping there won't be too much eating involved on this outing. The 23-year-old athlete told Carrie, "I'm not so sure you'd want to see me eat! It might not make a great first impression."

"Carrie needs someone who is going to stick by her," a skeptical pal of Carrie's revealed to the National Enquirer. "She was devastated when her relationship with Tony Romo broke. The last thing she needs is a relationship with another high-profile celebrity who's going to end up loving and leaving her."

Jessica Simpson heard the whole deal where Carrie Underwood said her ex-boyfriend (and Jessica's current one) Tony Romo still calls her. She decided to do some investigating.

"Tony and I both laughed at that," Simpson told Nashville radio station 107.5 The River. "We got a chuckle out of it."

Underwood, who dated the Dallas Cowboys quarterback in 2007, told Allure magazine in an interview for its September issue that sometimes "the phone will ring and it'll be [Romo], and I'll maybe not answer."

Underwood's comments are "definitely" not true, Simpson said.

Angelina Jolie is supposedly in talks to replace Mr. Katie Holmes in the espionage thriller Edwin A. Salt. What that means is that Tom will have a fit and threaten the wrath of Xenu if his wife is not in the movie, but it all could have been avoided if she just did Batman the Dark Knight. I just like continuity is all.

The film that was once expected to star Tom, will be rewritten with Angelina in the starring role, says the story. The mother of six, who just gave birth to twins, is close to a deal to play the lead role, a CIA officer who's accused of being a Russian spy and must prove her innocence.

In the film, the actress shares a controversial smooch with Cruz--one that Johansson admits was more pleasant than she anticipated.

"Everybody wants to know what it was like," she says in an interview with Parade.com.   "Penelope had less facial hair than a guy so it was certainly more pleasant. It  was better than kissing Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in Match Point. Kissing him wasn't that bad, but he did have to stop and shave in the middle of a scene even though he'd shaved that morning. The man has really got some beard on him."

Carrie Underwood did an interview with Extra while at the Idol Gives Back event and when asked about dating Chance Crawford, she said they broke up via text message. Seriously? Text message?

"We broke up over text so... it's like ‘peace out,'" Carrie told our Terri Seymour. "I don't know why it's all out now," Carrie continued, "when you break up with somebody and then like two months later it comes out, it's like you're rehashing old stuff."

That's so lame. I wonder if he gave her the "it's not you it's me" routine via text. Translating that really means "it really is you, but I'm lying to make it easier." Whatever. She's a babe so she'll find someone pretty quickly.
