Heidi Montag's new music video for her song "Higher" (video posted by Patrice here) has been hammered by plenty of negative reviews since it's release, and yet somehow it's reached No. 7 on the iTunes Top 10 pop chart.

"Makes me feel uncontrollably ill," "beyond pathetic," and "the crappiest video I have ever seen" were just some of the comments posted on Usmagazine.com - humiliated Montag.

"I just started sobbing uncontrollably," The Hills star tells Us.

"I cried myself to sleep that first night after my video came out," she says. "I just couldn't understand why people I didn't even know felt the need to be so cruel and hurtful toward me."

"I am just a 21-year-old from a small town in Colorado trying to follow her dreams," Montag says.

Boyfriend Spencer Pratt, the director of the video, was there for support. "I just held her and told her it was going to be OK," he tells Us. "This is just part of being an artist. If it were easy, everyone would be a pop star."

And here I thought she was all smiles and even commented that she was happy people gave her feedback. Looks like she's just another insecure girl who's trying to make her way in the world. I'm almost sad. She's out to get as much attention as she can and has had breast implants and a nose job. What more do you people want?

How did the video concept come to be?

"We were at the beach and, literally, Spencer had his camera and a boom box in the trunk," Montag recalls of the amateur shoot in October. "We did it in one take, maybe two, and it took us 20 minutes to film and cost us zero dollars."

"We had other ideas but we couldn't afford them," Montag says.

I can fully identify with this. I know exactly how this type of inspiration happens. "I have a camera in the trunk of my car, go get your bikini on" is an idea that's come to me hundreds of times. Literally. Heidi needs to give me a call, because I have some more ideas for her next few videos and they would also be inexpensive to shoot. The first one just came to me just seconds ago. It involves lingerie and rolling around on my desk.

Then we could shoot one that involves some tasteful nudity and her trying to get the attention of my penis. You see...that one would be very soulful about her insecurities with herself trying to make it in the world of music and ummm, my penis. Man! I think of these things so easily. I need to be a director.

You probably remember just the other day how Heidi Montag stole 3 minutes and 28 seconds of Patrice's life with her new music video "Higher" featuring the bikini-clad blond rolling around on the beach. It seems that Heidi was very happy for all the feedback she received.

"I appreciate people taking time to write any kind of comment. Do you know how much effort it really takes to sit down and write a comment? I've never written a comment in my entire life... you really have to have a lot of passion and thought to write any comment, so thank you."

Heidi's former fiancé Spencer Pratt, who shot the "Higher" video, had his own theory as to why it got the reaction it did.

"She's so beautiful and she's an unbelievable singer," he says. "The quality of music and the music video has never been seen before.

She looks great in a bikini Spencer, I'll grant you that, but she's not an "unbelievable singer" by any means. Much like Patrice, I thought the video was crap and if Heidi didn't have boobs...I would have bailed 10 seconds into the thing.

Dude, seriously...grow a pair. Sure she was hot, but there are other women out there. When a woman says she needs "space" then nothing good ever comes of it. Trust me.
