Mike Myers Could Be Gay
Normally I hate those blind items that are printed, because I never can tell who they are. I read this one yesterday and I had no idea although the "groovy" should have been a clue.
Which divorced comic superstar is exploring a groovy new real-life persona: that of an openly gay man?
Now the site Gawker just went right to it and says that Mike Myers is who they're talking about.
Some of you commenters told us that the guy we were all guessing, Mike Myers, star of the "groovy baby" catchphrase-apalooza Austin Powers films and the current dud The Love Guru, has been out 'n proud in Toronto for years. Fair enough. We're not sure why it is that the Daily News would bother featuring this as a "blind item" only to use such dead giveaway clues, other than that they it would be too gauche to "out" Myers, um, outright.
I once saw an interview with the guy where he stated that he liked to sit at home and watch the history channel and paint little soldiers. Turns out that whole time he was possibly thinking of dudes. He also stated that he really didn't like much attention in public. Turns out he was thinking of dudes. Now he's got his movie The Love Guru. Turns out he was thinking of Justin Timberlake in a speedo. It's all starting to add up.
