You've prabably heard this but now, but Nick Hogan (aka: Nick Bollea) is going to prison for 8 months for that car crash he had that seriously injured his friend John Graziano. It happened on August 26th, 2007 Nick's car smashed into a median and then flipped over and crashed into a palm tree. Nick was charged with reckless driving, having a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher, and having illegally tinted windows.

This last Friday Nick pleaded "no contest" and was sentenced to eight months in prison even though he's 17 and still technically a minor. He also got five years probation and one hundred hours community service for each year. He has to attend DUI school and is forbidden to drink alcohol for the duration of his probation.

Nick, who was joined in court by his father, mother, Linda, and sister Brooke, could have faced up to five years behind bars, but thanks to the plea agreement, that number was reduced. The Graziano family did ask the court for no less than one year in jail for Nick for having "destroyed my son's future," as John's father, Edward, put it.

Both families spoke before the court, with Nick asking the Grazianos for forgiveness and mercy.

"Everyday I miss being with John," Nick said. "I feel terrible. There is no court punishment that will make-up for what happened to John."

Still, "you can't undo what happened to John," Judge Federico said.

Maybe people will start to get the hint. When you drink and drive, bad things happen. You can pretty much screw your life (or worse someone else's life) in just seconds. By comparison...a cab ride is like $30 to $40.

The Hogans are getting sued. We all knew it would happen though after Nick Hogan (aka: Nick Bollea) crashed his car putting his passenger in the hospital, probably forever.

The suit, filed in Pinellas County Circuit Court, alleges that each of the defendants -- Terry Bollea, a.k.a. Hulk Hogan, Linda Bollea, Nick Bollea and Daniel Jacobs -- were negligent in the acts leading up to Graziano's injury last summer.

The suit will seek damages in the millions, said attorney George Tragos, but the exact amount is not known because it remains unclear how expensive Graziano's care will be. Tragos said the former Marine's medical bills already exceed $1 million.

The crash left Graziano, an Iraq war veteran, in critical condition.

Lawyers today said that a portion of Graziano's frontal lobe had to be removed because of the crash. He is in a "semi-conscious" state and responds to certain stimuli like heat and touch, lawyers said.

I think the Hogan's should pay. If it was Nick's fault from negligence they should pay and if he wasn't negligent, then his insurance should cover it. Either way, the Graziano family should get some help.
