Morgan Freeman had a car accident on Sunday night that caused him to be airlifted to a hospital, but he seems to be recovering fairly well after surgery. I love Morgan Freeman. Probably since I was a kid and grew up watching him on The Electric Company. I hope for a speedy recovery.

"Morgan is doing well after his surgery last night to reconnect nerves and repair damage in his left arm and hand," his spokesperson, Donna Lee, said in a statement Tuesday.

"The surgery last night lasted four and a half hours. He's visiting with family this morning. As of this morning he's up and walking around and looking forward to his release in a few days."

Scarlett Johansson is engaged to Canadian-born Ryan Reynolds and she's super excited because 1) Canadians are awesome and 2) crossing the border might be easier.

"I'm very excited," the Vicky Cristina Barcelona star, 23, tells Entertainment Tonight Canada in an interview airing Tuesday. "I've had wonderful times in Canada. It's a lovely country. It's a beautiful country and hopefully I'll be able to get through immigration faster now!"

It turns out Keira Knightley got drunk for her audition for the remake of My Fair Lady and that helped get her the part. I've tried that too, but I don't recommend it.

"I probably did slur my words," Knightley told the U.K. edition of Glamour in its September issue about having a drink before her audition to play Eliza Doolittle. "I told [producer Cameron Mackintosh] that would be the only way I could sing in front of everyone."

Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend (or whatever) Samantha Ronson are in Miami hanging with the Ronson family who all supposedly love Lindsay. Will the two ever officially come out? Probably not.

"I don't know if they'll ever truly announce their feelings for each other," one insider tells OK!. "But it's pretty obvious that this is more than just friends. They'll probably just let people connect the dots on their own.

Like I mentioned yesterday, Scarlett Johansson showed off her new engagement ring from Ryan Reynolds last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in NYC. No details have been revealed about how he popped the big question or when and where they plan to get married, but I bet all that will be coming soon. Pretty amazing to think that just a couple years back Ryan was engaged to Alanis Morissette who will now probably be able to write a new man-hating album as a result of this announcement.

Looks like after dating for over a year, Ryan Reynolds is going to try and seal the deal to nab one of Hollywood's hottest women. Ryan and girlfriend Scarlett Johansson are now engaged and she's supposedly going to be showing off the ring soon.

"They're both thrilled," Johansson's rep Marcel Pariseau tells PEOPLE.

Reynolds, 31, currently filming the aptly named The Proposal in Boston with Sandra Bullock, recently popped the question to Johansson, 23. The couple have not set a wedding date.

All I can say is the guy is Canadian. That should explain why he's a good-looking charmer. So you know by now that Scarlett Johansson is dating Ryan Reynolds, the guy from Van Wilder who was engaged to Alanis Morissette at one time. Anyway so it was Ryan's birthday and Scarlett wanted to get him something special of course and it involved oral.

Ryan's B-day was Tuesday, and last weekend, Scar-doll threw the slinky Smokin' Aces studster an early bash at Chateau Marmont. How very nice. Can you guess what terribly unique prezzie S.J. picked to gift Ry with?

Oh, never mind, there's no way you'll ever guess, so we'll just spill: one of her pearly whites. Yep, you read right. She'd just had her wisdom teeth removed, so she had one dipped in gold and strung on a necklace for him."
